Robinson Crusoe
|
|
Taunton's favourite pantomime society was back at the Brewhouse
in January 2008.
Robinson Crusoe, had an award
winning formula of good old traditional
pantomime entertainment. In his third year with the
Wayfarers, the producer/director Brian Saunders continued to build on the foundations he
laid over the last two years. There were plenty of familiar
faces in the cast including our award winning
Dame, Nigel Ford who played Mrs Crusoe
and Sarah Whittaker, our award winning Principal Boy, who played her son, Robinson. Alison Jenkinson played Robinson's girlfriend, Sally; with Nic Fisher played Man Friday; Alister Wilmott and Amber Samuel played Billy and Lottie respectively; Miranda the Mermaid was played by Nikki Court, who radiated good against the badness of Blackbeard the Pirate, played by David Andrews; Simon Wilmott and Stuart Lloyd played Flotsam and Jetsam and bringing up the tail, so to speak, PG, Robinson's Monkey is played by Zoe Thomas.
There were
many other well
known faces as well as new members treading
the boards for the first time. As always
there was an all singing, all dancing chorus,
and the famous Wayfarer dancers, under the
direction of award winning choreographer,
Sheila Driver. The
wonderfully colourful costumes which have
become a hall mark of Wayfarers' pantos were,
once again, much in evidence.
The stage was, as usual, colourfully dressed and lit to ensure the audience was transported to a far off time and land, by the able but (hopefully!) hidden efforts of the Blackgang.
