The Somerset Fellowship of Drama “Cinderella Awards” were back this year, after a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

We are delighted to say Sleeping Beauty WON the CINDERELLA TROPHY for best pantomime in Somerset for 2022/2023.

On our way to winning the coveted Trophy, we also had several other successes.

Best Junior Group – Well Done TWYGs!

Best Chorus – Sleeping Beauty was an all-around “team” performance. Well done to our Chorus for a stand-out performance.

Best Good Supernatural – Our Fairies! They are our heroes now!! Congratulations Elisabeth, Chloe and Becky.

And Elisabeth Sandy and Becky Santiago were there to collect their certificates.

Best Female Singer – and Clare gave a fantastic performance at the Awards too.

Best Special Effects – The Dragon!! Well done to the Black Gang for bringing this effect to life!

Best Stage Management – Once again, Garry and Martin accepting the honours!

Garry Stacey and Martin Lock retain the award they have deservedly won 5 times in the last 6 Cinderella Awards

There was a special mention for Promising Young Performers from across the county, which included our very own Bella Whitelaw (who was young Aurora), Amelia Calderwood (who was young Averice) and Robert Stepney (who was young Arthur).

Another award winner was Kirsty Newman for her brief role as the Ghost, which was one of five winners of the Adjudicators Special Awards.

  • Best Villian
  • Best Musical Director
  • Best Director
