🎭 A MESSAGE FROM THE WAYFARERS PANTOMIME SOCIETY 🎭
We feel it is important to make a statement following the recent news regarding the future of The Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton.
The Wayfarers Pantomime Society would like to make it clear that we are a completely separate organisation from the Brewhouse and from Taunton Theatre Association the charity that currently operates the theatre.
We are incredibly saddened that TTA’s operation of the Brewhouse is ending on the 31st of October and that, unless a new operator is found, the Brewhouse will remain shut.
Like many people in Taunton and the surrounding communities, we sincerely hope that a future for this much-loved venue can be found.
We have done what we can to support the campaign to save the Brewhouse, including helping set up a GoFundMe and would like to thank everyone that donated or shared , Unfortunately, there is no more that we can do directly at this stage.
❤️ BUT WE WANT TO REASSURE OUR AUDIENCE…
The Wayfarers are NOT closing.
The Wayfarers are NOT the Brewhouse.
And most importantly…
🎭 THE WAYFARERS WILL CONTINUE! 🎭
And as for Aladdin 2027…
🧞♂️ THE SHOW MUST GO ON! ✨
We are still working incredibly hard behind the scenes and at rehearsals to bring you our 2027 family pantomime, ALADDIN. 🧞♂️✨
Our commitment to providing family pantomime and theatre to the people of Taunton and the surrounding area remains as strong as ever. Please keep an eye out on social media for when our tickets will be released.
Our youth theatre group, TWYGs, is also unaffected and will continue to provide opportunities for young people to enjoy acting, singing, dancing, improvisation and theatrical games.
The future of the Brewhouse may currently be uncertain, but the future of the Wayfarers is not.
We will continue to work hard to bring laughter, magic and family entertainment to our community.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported the Wayfarers, our cast and crew, TWYGs and our pantomimes over the years.
We are still here. We are still rehearsing. And we are still bringing pantomime to Taunton. ❤️
