Some time ago, our TWYGs leader Sarah Creswick received the District Achievement Award from NODA for her work with TWYGs. The Corona Virus Pandemic has held up her receiving her certificate, but, as you can see from the picture, she has now received her formal award.

It is 15 years since Sarah started TWYGs, along with her sister Amanda, to provide children between 8 and 14 with an introduction in stage craft. They learn dances, songs, how to deliver lines, and many more things besides, providing them with a safe and friendly environment in which to enjoy themselves. TWYGs is now an integral part of the Wayfarers and each year provides the youngsters for our shows. More than this, many of these youngsters have gone on to be adult members of the society, culminating this year in both the principal boy and principal girl being former TWYGs.

Once again we would like to congratulate Sarah on her award and for the recognition of a her commitment to giving so many youngsters a wonderful experience and some great life skills.

TWYGs runs every Saturday afternoon during term time, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm at Callebaut Hall, Kingston Road, just up the road from the railway station. We are currently taking new names for September’s register. If you have an 8 to 14 year old who would like to join, please email twygs@hotmail.co.uk.
