It was confirmed this week that the Wayfarers will be participating in this year’s Taunton Carnival on the 18th October 2014. The Mendip Mule, an open top bus, has been secured for the cast, committee and supporters to ride through town. This will give the Society the opportunity to hop on and off and circulate with the public to hand out fliers about Beauty and the Beast. Martin Howe has been elected the new Chairman of the Wayfarers, replacing Hilary Marshall who stands down after 5 outstanding years at the helm. Many of you will recognise Martin as the son of Society founder members John and Linda Howe, so he is no stranger to the Wayfarers. Wayfarers’ Chairman, Hilary Marshall and Treasurer, Keith Smith present a cheque for £777.72 to Sister Sharon Sussex of the Beacon Ward at the Beacon Centre, Musgrove Park Hospital. The results of a “Bucket Collection” taken after each performance of the Wayfarers’ Pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, held at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre in January this year.
